We get a lot of questions about ordering our cakes & cupcakes, so we've put together a few guidelines to help make things a little easier!
> Do you have every cupcake flavor for sale in the store every day?
Unfortunately, no - we are a small bakery, and each day we offer a varying selection of about twenty different flavors of our cupcakes for retail sale. All our cupcakes are freshly baked each morning though, so if there is a specific flavor you are hoping to enjoy on your next visit, just give us a call at least a day ahead and we'll be happy to prepare your favorites for you!
> Do you offer gluten free, dairy free, egg free cupcakes?
Absolutely! Almost every one of our cupcakes can be prepared without gluten (with some exceptions - Oreo, Cookie Dough, the Graham Cracker crust on the Key Lime Pie cupcake). We bake a selection of gluten-free cupcakes for the storefront every Wednesday and Thursday, and if we have an order for gluten-free cupcakes on another day we will bake a few extra for retail sale. If you would like gluten-free cupcakes please call us at least a day beforehand to place an order. Gluten-free cupcakes are $3.50 each or $38 per dozen (tax included).

> Can I order my cupcakes over the phone? By e-mail?
Absolutely! Call (215) 884-0254 or email info@velvetskybakery.com - if you call and receive our voicemail, leave a detailed message and we'll get back to you as soon as we can (no voicemail or email order is confirmed until we return your call or reply to your email). For cupcake towers, wedding cakes and specialty cakes, a consultation is required. Please call us to schedule an appointment.
> How far in advance must I order my cupcakes?
Cupcakes, the same day:
As all cupcakes are baked fresh daily and we offer a variety of cupcakes for retail sale every day, we cannot guarantee that we can offer you every flavor each day. If you would like to order cupcakes for the same day, we can offer what is available for retail.
Any quantity of cupcakes of any flavor from our menu:
Please allow a full day between order and pick up.
Cupcake towers:
We recommend at least two weeks before pickup or delivery. For cupcake towers that include a cake and/or delivery, a consultation is necessary.
> Sizing Your Order
Here is a helpful guide for sizing your order for single layer and tiered cakes. Keep in mind that we can accommodate cakes of all sizes to suit your events' needs! Our cakes are approximately 4 inches high - two layers of cake with a layer of buttercream filling in between.
> Cake Flavors
We can essentially turn any of our cupcake flavors into a full sized cake. You can select from several cake flavors - and any combination of buttercream filling flavors. Here are some examples:

Every cake's price will vary depending on its size, complexity, materials/techniques used and other design elements. Generally, simple buttercream cakes start at $3.00 per serving. Fondant accents will add to this price. Fondant cakes and sculpted specialty cakes start at $4 per serving and can increase to up to $20 per serving depending on your project.
> When do I need to place my cake order?
As we are a small bakery, we highly recommend that you place your cake order as far in advance as possible to be sure that we can accommodate you!
Regular buttercream cakes:
Please allow at least 48 hours between order and pick up.
Fondant Cakes, Specialty Cakes and Wedding Cakes:
For most fondant and wedding cakes, a consultation is necessary at least one month in advance. Contact us to schedule an appointment. Be sure to bring by photos, swatches, color samples, and any ideas and inspirations for the overall theme of your event.
> Does Velvet Sky deliver?
Yes! We have a large delivery radius, and will deliver wedding cakes and cupcake towers to the greater Philadelphia area. Delivery charges are additional and are based on distance to the location.
> What methods of payment does Velvet Sky accept?
We currently accept cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover. Checks are accepted for contractual orders.
