Velvet Sky, located in the quaint neighborhood of Jenkintown, is a modern style of bakery that is making its way across the country. Throw out everything antiquated about what you think passes for baked goods, and discover why Velvet Sky is the freshest bakery in the area. Loads of shortening and big cans of pie filling be gone! Here we use butter (literally, tons of it), sugar, eggs, fresh fruit, and all of the finest baking ingredients on the market. Our chocolates are from Belgium and the Netherlands, not the middle of Pennsylvania. Oh, and as for variety, how is more than forty types of cupcakes? Need a cake for your next event, we do that too, even in peanut butter.

OPEN 4th of JULY
Velvet Sky Bakery will be open Saturday 4 July from 10A-3P. Please feel free to place orders as normal, or come by to pick up one of our thirty varieties of cupcakes available that day. Please be advised that due to community parade, Leedom Street (in front of the bakery) will be closed from approximately 11:30A-12:30P. The parking lot across from the bakery will remain open, please access it using Greenwood Avenue as opposed to West Avenue. All streets will be open from approximately 10A-11:30A and 12:30P-3P.

Art Deco Wedding Cake
A three tiered cake with art deco inspired piping. The cake was made to reflect the client's invitation and color samples. The piping is a done by hand in a very detailed and labor intensive process. It is a segment of the border of the invitation. The bands were directly matched from a sample provided. The enitre cake was sprayed with a light coating of silver luster spray to emulate the same art deco theme.
Green Lilly Cupcake Tower
Our new square cupcake towers in action. We are now offering two sizes of the same cupcake towers for your events. Like the round, they can be color matched to your event and are yours to keep. This is a medium square tower with varying shades of pink and green cupcakes. The cake is covereed in rolled fondat with handmade sugar orchids and a corresponding green band.
Law Books Graduation Cake
One of our shaped cakes, there are actually three distinct cakes (different flavors) stacked on top of one another. The books were made to appear as though they came from the same series, with different topics. There is a fine grain pattern in the covers which are also made shiny to emulate leather. A disc and bookmark compliment the cake as accents, along with gold pages.
