Velvet Sky, located in the quaint neighborhood of Jenkintown, is a modern style of scratch bakery where quality trumps quantity and where our products have a shelf life of hours, not days.  We are a specialty bakery that focuses on cupcakes and custom cakes.  You won't find any muffins here, just forty different varieties of cupcakes and custom made cakes from the simplest of buttercream birthday cakes to the most ornate wedding cakes and everything in between.   

Throw out everything antiquated about what you think passes for baked goods, and discover why Velvet Sky is the freshest bakery in the area. Loads of shortening and big cans of pie filling be gone! Here we use butter (literally, tons of it), sugar, eggs, fresh fruit, and all of the finest baking ingredients on the market. Our chocolates are from Belgium and the Netherlands, not the middle of Pennsylvania.  Our products are always baked fresh daily, never pulled from a freezer.

Welcome to Version 3.0

As you may have noticed, the website is a little different than the last time you stopped by.  If this is your first visit, then welcome.  We are sticklers for our website, as we operate a very visual business.  You will see a number of improvements, based in no small part on your feedback.  They include more streamlined explanations, pictures of the cupcakes and towers along with sizing, as well as more selective galleries.  Please take a few minutes to enjoy the new vsb.com.

Finally Finished

After weeks of toiling in the basement building the counters, one broken piece of glass, and a mildly upset delivery driver; the second and most ambitious renovation has been completed.  We streamlined our production so that you are able to purchase more than twenty different kinds of cupcakes each day from the new display. It includes led lights for display and highlighting the cupcakes.  Step into the clouds soon and find the most cutting edge display anywhere.

Holy Sh!t, There's Parking in Jenkintown

A very sincere thanks goes out to the Borough of Jenkintown, Jenkintown Community Alliance, as well as all of the representatives on local, state, and federal levels; for their unwavering commitment to improving the business climate.  After much debate and fanfare, our new sixty space lot directly across from the bakery has finally opened.  It utilizes new technology for payments, including a grace period. 

Daaa Da Da Da, Congratulations Jenny and Fred

A love story years in the making, all anchored by cupcakes.  They have been loyal customers since our inception, often sneaking in to try our new varieties after having breakfast across the street.  One day Fred approached us, with a master plan of getting engaged in our fondant workspace.  The plan went into motion and it included three employees covertly shutting the front door, placing the ring on the cake, and giving them privacy while he preformed a song acoustically on the guitar.  Congratulations from the entire staff of VSB.
